summerchoirJoin the Summer Choir - All Ages Welcome – No Experience Needed

As the formal choir season comes to an end for the summer, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the members of the Adult Choir, Resurrection Choir, and Children's Choir for all of their hard work this season.  Your dedication and spirit have added greatly to the celebration of the Mass each Sunday, and your enthusiasm has been an inspiration.

At this time, I would like to extend an invitation to all members of the Parish to join the Summer Choir.  This choir is designed to give families and friends the chance to sing together.  Children, parents, and grandparents can come and sit together and join in singing praises to God.  I hope that all members of our church who like to sing will feel comfortable in taking part in this choir.   The commitment level is substantially lessened than that of the regular choir season.  All you have to do is show up......for one Sunday, or as many Sunday's as you wish.

The Summer Choir is an attempt to reach out to the many in our church who want to be involved in the church's music ministry, but somehow never found the time or never felt comfortable in any of the established choirs.

Don't forget the benefits of joining a choir:

A New Challenge:   Learning to sing is a challenge in itself, but learning to sing with others is a skill that makes the singing experience all the more rewarding.
Social Benefits:   You will enhance your circle of friends.
Education:   If you're new to music and singing, it will also encourage you to learn basic singing technique and music theory.
Health Benefits:   Singing is an ideal way to relax and relieve stress as it provides an outlet from the pressures of daily life.

I think it would be great to see the choir section overflowing with singers.  Just be in the choir section at 10:00 a.m. each Sunday, beginning June 30.

Respectfully in song and faith,

Steve Kittler
Director of Music
