SPRED (Special Religious Development) is an agency of the Archdiocese. It is a unique program designed to guide persons living with developmental and intellectual disabilities to grow in faith and prepare for full participation in the sacramental life of the parish.
Each participating parish in the surrounding neighborhood focuses on an age group in the following categories:
Interested families and volunteers are asked to contact Patricia Garcia for more information regarding the SPRED program, by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
The Catechists of St. Pius X SPRED wish to express their gratitude to all parishioners for their continued support of this wonderful religious development program!
Effective July 1, 2022, St. Leonard Parish, Berwyn, and St. Pius X Parish, Stickney, shall be extinguished as separate juridic persons in the Church and united to form one new juridic person, a territorial parish within the combined territories of the two parishes. The new parish is to be called, ad interim, St. Pius X and St. Leonard Parish.
The St. Pius X Family Assistance Ministry offers a short term program to assist our parishioners and families that live in Stickney and Forest View who are experiencing financial difficulty. For information or assistance, please call the parish office: (708) 484-7951.
Wish to donate: Our pantry is in need of non-perishable food items, paper products, personal care items and gift cards.
Please place your donations in the box in the church narthex. Gift cards can be placed in the weekend collection basket or the church mail drop box.
We need your help and support. Due to the economic time that we are in our gas and electricity bills have doubled. This was never projected in our budget for this fiscal year; we are asking your support to supplement the rise in our utilities. Last fiscal year we spent approximately $15,000 and just in the last three months alone our gas bills have totaled $10,000. We encourage you use your maintenance envelopes to donate to fund. You may also donate electronically through MyeOffering by selecting “Utilities.” All parishes are experiencing these rising utility costs.
Thank you to our parish families that generously donated the funds that enabled St. Pius X parish to purchase touchless wall mount and free standing Holy Water Fonts.
We bless ourselves, “In the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit” when we enter and leave church. The Holy Water reminds us of our baptism.
These have been challenging times over the past two years, but please know you have my support and the support of our parish. The Annual Catholic Appeal will launch the weekend of February 19-20 and I wanted to share with you the impact your gift – no matter the size – has on this important effort. The work supported by the Appeal is more important than ever. Gifts to the Annual Catholic Appeal directly support the necessary work of parishes, Catholic schools and vital ministries throughout the archdiocese.
PLEASE NOTE: Saturday bilingual Rosary will be recited
after the 4:00 p.m. Mass beginning March 20th.
